Each week Kagayaki will read one of Nagarjuna’s ‘Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness’ after the 3 bells to begin zazen are sounded. Each one of Nagarjuna’s ‘Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness’ relates directly to Shakyamuni Buddha’s enlightenment experience that is the basis of his teachings on dependent arising and the emptiness of all phenomena. Nagarjuna (2 – 3rd century CE).
