Zazenkai

When, just as they are,

White dewdrops gather

On the scarlet maple leaves,

Regards the scarlet beads

“Continuous practice that actualizes itself is no other than your continuous practice right now. …your continuous practice of this day is a seed of all buddhas and the practice of all buddhas.” —Master Eihei Dogen

Fall Practice Period Zazenkai Both Zendo and Zoom Participation October 24, 2021, 9:00 – 4:00

Join together and feel the energy of shared group practice with fellow Two Rivers Zen Community sangha members for Zazenkai on Sunday, August 1st as we enter the Late Summer Practice Period. The Zazenkai will be held at the Two Rivers Zendo at 76 Main Street in Narrowsburg, NY and streamed live via Zoom.

This modified, day-long retreat dedicated to practice in the great silence created by the retreat environment and our group participation, will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m., and will include zazen practice, kinhin (walking meditation), a dharma talk, and a service.

A small group will be practicing in the zendo, maintaining the spirit of whole-hearted energy, communal practices and carrying out scheduled Zazenkai activities. Maximum live participation is limited to six.  Simply respond via email to reserve a spot. chugai108@gmail.com

Zooming Zazenkai fortuitously opens the space for many more to participate.  Please respond via email to indicate that you will participate via Zoom and we will send you the information you’ll need to join the Zazenkai.

This practice day is freely offered to all; however, donations in the spirit of dana are welcome.

Additional Sessions To Be Announced

Full & Half Day Meditation Retreats

Zazenkai literally means “coming together for zazen” and consists of a daylong retreat devoted to practice, with Great Silence observed throughout the day. This is an opportunity to intensify and deepen practice and settle the mind in a supportive group setting through the experience of periods of uninterrupted meditation (zazen), walking meditation (kinhin), a dharma talk or seminar, and service.

Please note: due to Covid restrictions the in-person retreat is limited to full time participation only
