What is Temari ?

Temari is an ancient Japanese needle art. “Te” means hand, and “mari” means ball so the term literally means: “embroidering the surface of a ball.”

Tuition is $60  Mail a check or money order payable to TRZC to Myoki Marcia Nehemiah, 113 Cedar Court, Hawley, PA 18428. Please include your email address for a confirmation of your registration and for a list of supplies you will need to bring to the class.

Participants should have some sewing experience, whether in needlecraft arts or basic sewing tasks like hemming pants.

About Myoki Marcia Nehemiah

Myoki Marcia Nehemiah is a published author (Crone Age, 2012) and poet (Final Story, 2009; Reclamation, 2005). She is a lay-ordained Zen practitioner at TRZC. She learned to knit when she was seven and since then has tried her hand at cross-stitch, crewel embroidery and quilting. She is a self-taught temari artist and has been practicing temari for five years.
